Hi there, Today’s share are a few more alternative cards using the January 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit.
I decided on a heart shape hot air balloon for the first card. A simple layout but a tiny bit fiddly when creating the heart shape.

I used the heart velum piece to trace out a heart and cut it out. Next measure about 3/4″ up from the bottom of the heart and that will be the bottom of the inner heart. Then measure 3/4″ further up on each side to create the sides of the smaller heart. Now for the fiddly part, I cut a thin strip in the centre and on the sides which will be the balloon string or rope and colour it in black.

To create the bottom section, I outlined the envelope part of the stamp with the cluster using Pacific Point Stampin’ Write marker. I didn’t want the solid part on the stamp so this was the easiest way I thought to avoid having to mask that part out.  Mask the lower part of the envelope and stamp the cluster with Real Red and cut it out and attach to the balloon piece.

The clouds were created using the Tree Builder Punch and I did trim it down to make them smaller and shaded it lightly in blue.  For more details, check out the video tutorial.

For the 2nd card, I saw kitty cat paws from the tiny heart stamp. I’m excited to share how I created them. First, I wanted a bunch of envelopes at the bottom as a base. I stamped a bunch of envelopes using the stamp from the kit and masked as I stamped to create a layered look. I then coloured the envelopes with Soft Sky, Pink Pirouette and Blushing Bride. Later I did go over the envelopes with watercolour pencils and the aqua pen to darken the colours since the marker colors faded a bit too much.

Mask off a few of the envelopes on the top row and using Pumpkin Pie, I stamped the kitty cat paws and arms.  To create the upper part of the paws, stamp two hearts together and then down to create the arm and repeat for the other side. Add in the paw details using a black marker and using Pumpkin Pie stampin’ write marker to cover any letters that are still appearing.

I stamped and clear embossed the ‘be mine’ sentiment on the heart velum piece and with a small dauber, I coloured across with Real Red.

If you just want the paws and no arms, stamp the 2 hearts next to each other and then turn the stamp upside down and stamp to create the palm of the paw. Then add in the paw details.  Give it a go!
