Paper Pumpkin February 2018 -Pt 2- Alternative Cards
Hello again and welcome to Part 2 featuring alternative cards using the February 2018 Paper Pumpkin Kit.
I like cards with script words with wildflowers and the stamp set from the kit was just perfect to create this look! I chose the ‘your awesomeness’ and ‘hello sweet’ stamp to create the script across the panel. I used my mini Misty in hopes to get straight even sentences but I don’t use it enough so I didn’t do the greatest job. I’m not overly too fussed ’cause once you shade over top of the words it tones it down and you won’t notice the inconsistency in the spacing too too much! Lol!
I used happy bright colours for the shading and to stamp the wildflowers, I used the wildflower stamp and the straight line stamp to create the stems. I used darker colours to stamp those and will try one in black and fill it in entirely to create a silhouette. All in all, I like how this card turned out and I only used the one panel from the kit!
Card Recipe:
– Whisper White card base 4-1/4 x 11″ Score at 5-1/2″
This next card was fun to create! To create the stripes, I used the ‘your awesomeness’ stamp and stamped on the back side. I stamped and dragged the stamp across the panel to get a softer look. This was an exercise in itself to just stamp and not worry if you are straight or stamping correctly! I then cut the panel and the actual size is listed below.
Next, I shaded the bottom and top of the ‘friend’ word with Garden Green and Tempting Turquoise to create a gradient look and stuck it to the layout and added the ‘hello’ word next to it. As for the flowers, I just arranged it similar to my first video. I have a huge rem of Neenah Solar White 110 lb card stock and I’m just about out the Whisper White and forgot to order more so I thought I’d try it out,…it is super thick!! Great for alcohol Copic colouring which was why I bot it years ago! Side note, I bot it when I was doing my digital images to print them but the card stock was too thick to go thru my printer…Doh!
Card Recipe:
– Neenha Solar White 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ Score at 4-1/4″
– Large Striped Panel 4 x 5-1/8″
– Small Striped Panel 3/8 x 5-1/8″
And finally the last card. It was a bit iffy but I was stubborn enough to give it a try to see if I was able to colour over top the leaves. Nope, too dark! I was hoping it would so I didn’t have to create a separate image and fussy cut it out but I had to after all. I used the smallest flower stamp to build an arrangement and the stamp with the large flower and fussy cut each one once I coloured them. I then adhered it over top my attempt and it looked so much better. I also decided to add Glossy Accents which will get the red to really pop! Glossy Accents to the rescue! LOL. I think it was a good save and I do like the delicate look of this little bouquet.
As for the sentiment, I used the ‘your awesomeness’ stamp and omitted the ‘ness’…but I’m pretty sure it should be ‘you’re awesome’…oh well! I wanted a small script for this delicate bouquet and it worked just fine!
