Canadian Stampin Up Demonstrator Kathie Zaban – Abstract Impressions
Hello everyone! I made this card last week for the team blog hop and couldn’t get to it even though I had it done except for the blog post, so I figured I’d share it today. Used the Abstract Impression stamp set for this card.  I used the flower images on the left and right side and for the leaves, I used the grass blade stamp second from the left.

Starting with a watercolor panel, I stamped the first flower that is much fuller with Petal Pink as the base colour and using the third flower stamp, I stamped second generation with Blackberry Bliss ink. I then used an Aquabrush to blend and extended each petal stroke to form an illusion of petals. Leave some white high lights between the petals and I thought a bit of Daffodil Delight might add some interest but meh…it could go without it! Lol!

For the leaves, I used the grass blade stamp, second from the left of the above image. I did mask off the little blades when inking it up. Focusing on the two tallest ones, this is what I used to stamp the three long leaves in the flower cluster. Using the Aquabrush, I them extended the leaves to make them longer and fuller.

Next, I cut the panel down and where the one leaf hung off, I decided to leave it intact and cut around it. I don’t have the card with me, but my guess is the panel is 3-1/5 x 4-3/4″ (will check when I am able to remeasure it) I then sponged around the edges fading towards the image with Pacific Point. Be sure to leave a halo around the flower arrangement. 

For the sentiment, I used the ‘thank you’ from the stamp set and stamped it onto a whisper white banner with Black Momento Ink. Adhere the flower panel with dimensionals onto a Petal Pink panel. Next I created a vellum banner that is the width of the card base and is about an inch or so in height.  I find it easier if you cut the banner a bit longer so that once you stick it down…then trim back the access. This way it won’t be short. I’ve cut it where its the right length and every time, it becomes short! Duh! So best to cut it a bit longer and then remove the access….Yup, one of my blonde moments and gets me more often than not! Lol!  I used some snail on the vellum where the ‘thank you’ sentiment would hide it and then snailed the sentiment on the right side.  Finally, I added a few Basic Pearls to the card.

– Whisper White Cardbase 4-1/4 x 11 Score at 5-1/2
– Petal Pink panel 4 x 5-1/4
– Vellum banner 5-1/2 x 1 (could be 1-1/4)
– Finished Watercolour panel 3-1/4 x 4-1/4
