Paper Pumpkin February 2018 -Pt 4- Mountain Alternative Card
Hi there, welcome to another alternate card project featuring the February 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit. This card was inspired form the Waterfront stamp set and I challenged myself to see if I could create a mountain using one of the stamps. I wanted a scene with some cherry blossoms in the foreground with a mountain in the background and I think it turned out really nice!
You’ll have to watch the video to see how I created it. I honestly had a heck of a time trying to explain the steps but seeing it is much easier than describing it and it doesn’t help when the footage is sped up. I hope you get the gist of how I created it.
I’m going to explain how I created the mountain part, just in case I missed something…so here goes.
I used the back side of the Wildflower stamp from the kit. Ink it up with smoky slate and lightly stamp a centre and then stamp again on each side (stamp off first if your ink pad is really juicy). Then ink up part of the stamp to shape the right side and a final full inked stamp to extend the right side. For the left side, you want it very soft. Ink up part of the stamp (on the long side) and stamp off a few times and gently stamp to create the left mountain side and slide the stamp as you gently stamp to form the entire left side of the mountain.
Add additional details below the mountain. Continue partially loading the stamp with ink, stamp off and gently stamp and slide on the card stock to produce a soft fuzzy look to resemble clouds or fog. Stamping lightly and with a controlled amount of ink on your stamp will help you avoid the hard edges. Pretend the stamp is a brush!
As for the cherry blossom arrangement, I hand drew in the branches and used the floral stamp for the flowers. I used the same colours as in my last video to colour the flowers and branches..
