Timeless Tide Cased -Stampin’Up! -Pt 1
Hello Stampers!
Yes, I’m still kicking! Apologies for my absence! I have so much to share and so little time!
At the rate I’m going I figured I’d better just post the cards as I make them and forgo the videos until I have time to focus on them. I did record a video on how I made the card on the right. Once I have a break, I will try to get that up on YT.
The Timeless Tide Card kit is my all time favourite and thought I’d case each card in the kit and share how I made each one so you can make your own Timeless Tide cards using what ever stamps and medium you have.
I used the Blended Seasons & Beautiful Day stamp sets on each card to case the poinsettia card from the kit.(unfinished too if I may add! lol. I’m hoarding it!) The medium I used are the Stampin’Blends which I’ve been wanting to test out for awhile. This was pretty well the first time using them. I own all of the Copic Markers and was hoping the Stampin’Blends work the same. Well they work quite well but I’m used to having 3 color tones instead of just 2. I made do and I think it turned out nice!
There was Bermuda Bay in the mix and Night of Navy which show in the line up but they weren’t working out and the darker colours covered them up. Heres a quick list of the Stampin’Blend colors I used:
Flowers:
Flirty Flamingo Light & Dark
Real Red Light & Dark
Poppy Parade Dark
Blackberry. Bliss Dark
Pineapple Punch Dark
Granny Apple Light & Dark
Leaves & Stem:
Granny Apple Light & Dark
Pineapple Punch Dark
Old Olive Light & Dark
Background:
Pineapple Punch Dark
Granny Apple Light & Dark
Old Olive Light & Dark
Smoky Slate Dark
Basic Black Dark
To create the stripes, I used Pineapple Punch, Granny Apple and Old Olive, all in the dark colors. I just drew them free hand. if you inspect the original, its not perfect so as long as they are going in the same direction, your golden!
As for the card on the right (below). The flower is colored with Stampin’Blends as above and I used sponge daubers to create the background. I created a mask with a post it note to cover the flower first and used the ink pads: Pineapple Punch, Granny Apple, Old Olive and a bit of Black.
The finish off the card, I white embossed the sentiments and added a Real Red cardstock edge. Gold would have been nice too but I would have had to dig for it…lol…the red was closer and brought in an added pop of color!! HaHa!
Alright, hope you enjoyed todays card share. Stay tune for the second Timeless Tide cased card.
BTW, I have the November PP all thought out…just need to find the time to get to them. Its a great kit too!
Also, thank you everyone for your emails and comments and missing me! I am sorry for not being around lately!
