Paper Pumpkin January 2018 Alternate 1 Valentines Alternative
Hi there, I hope you received your January 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit already! I think its a great kit. I like the colour and designs of the card bases but would have preferred A2 card sizes. Oh well!
I had fun playing with the kit for the past 2 days and came up with a ton of alternate card ideas! Then the task of deciding which card or cards to do first. I decided to start with one card in the video and try to group the super simple ones in another video. The video tutorial is linked below.
You may know that the new Occasions catalogue is in full swing along with the SAB catalogue! If you are in Canada and interested in checking out SU goodness, now is the time! If you don’t already have a demonstrator, you need to join my team!
Please don’t take this next part the wrong way…..
My Paper Pumpkin subscription is done on March 31st and I’m on the fence about re-subscribing for another year. If you wish to see more alternate card projects, I need your business and or your support.
I have received many emails from individuals stating they would certainly buy or subscribe through me but they cannot due to being in another country. I’m not super keen on the idea but I have decided to add a Donation button on the sidebar of my blog for any one wishing to support me. All proceeds will go towards the Paper Pumpkin addiction!! I have enjoyed sharing my card ideas and inspiring you to love your PP kits!
Back to the card….I love how this one turned out. I initially was thinking of a shaker card but then changed my mind. So you could go about creating this card a bit differently. Instead of cutting the heart shape out on the white panel, create a heart mask. Use the vellum heart piece to trace the shape on a post it note. Next, place on the white panel and stamp around it. Trace the heart shape again on the flap of the card base with the copper gold hearts and cut it out. Stick it over top where the post it note was. Now continue with the inner part of the heart as shown in the video. Hope that made sense and makes it easier. A simple card to create with fun stamping involved!
Here is the video tutorial…enjoy!

Absolut gorgeous work here too Kathie, I love this cute heart, it´s really sweet and gorgeous for many different occasions.
I can relate to those, who´s a bit frrustrated about not being able to get anything abroad, as we also hear that here all the time, and even it´s being sold in both Germany and UK, we can´t even buy it there, and even we´re more here, who´s asked to sell it here, we can´t be allowed, because it´s not good buisness, when we´re such a small country. I can understand they say we´+re too small to have all written translated and what they kept telling us, but I sure don´t understand then, why qwe can´t be allowed to buy it in other countries then, when they wounbt sell it to us? But that´s ofcause just my private thoughts. Soo many here is asking for different items almost every week or at least every month someone is asking where to find in our local craftgroups here.
Hi Maryanni, I hope you are well! So nice to hear from you. Glad you like my card! That really sucks that you are limited in craft goodies over there. I hope things change over there one day!
Kathie, of all the people who make Paper Pumpkin alternative cards, it is my opinion that you are far, far above the rest in many ways. You have a creative mind which thinks way “out of the box.” The cards you create look very little like the original Paper Pumpkin project and, as for myself, I often prefer your project ideas above the original project. We who watch you create such beautiful cards, are inspired to not only make some of your cards, but you inspire us to begin to think “out of the box” too. So I hope that you will seriously consider staying with Paper Pumpkin so we can continue to watch your amazing, creative mind. It is my opinion that you have demonstrated your superior talent well enough to join the staff at SU and create some original Paper Pumpkin kits for us.
Hi Pamela, Oh my, your comment has me blushing and is one of the loveliest heartfelt comments I have received! Thank you so much for your support and such high praise. I hope to continue to delight you each month!
Hi Kathie, I have been watching you for some time, but this is the first time I’ve visited your blog. I am sorry that I can not purchase from outside USA. Your alternatives blow me away! It is obvious you are a talented artist, which I have stated on your you tube video posts. I understand your decision about PP though. I am sorry to say I will miss your version, as they are far superior to the original PP designs. I agree with Pamela and think you would make a wonderful addition to the PP design team. Best wishes for a successful year.
Hi Mary, you may have watched my latest video and or checked my blog but after much thought and with the support from my fabulous YT subscribers, I have decided I will stick around for another year. Thank you for leaving such a lovely comment!
I stumbled onto your YouTube channel and blog tonight. After watching a ton of your videos and reading blog posts, I think it would be a shame if you quit. You are very talented and your alternatives are wonderful!!!
I’ve been on the fence about a Paper subscription ever since it started. However after watching your video, a subscription is now in my very near future. I’m sorry that I can’t sign up under you but I’m in the US. I wish you all the best and hope to see you sharing more of your work for a long time to come!!
