Love What You Do Mothers Day Card
Hello Stampers! Welcome to the first Happy Stampers Blog Hop and to start, Sandi created a super easy sketch challenge. Todays card share features the Love What You Do stamp set, a bit of watercoloring and I teamed it up with the Basket Weave embossing folder. I hadn’t had a chance to play with it and thought this was the perfect opportunity and since Mothers Day is coming up, I decided to create a card for this occasion. The stamp set has a few cute dainty flowers and I used the trio of flowers stamp. I stamped it across the watercolour panel about three times and filled in a few gaps along the bottom and sides. I coloured the flowers with Stampin’Write Markers and blended the colours with an Aqua Brush. The flowers were stamped with Memento Black ink and the flower colours I used were Melon Mamba, Berry Burst and Elegant Eggplant for the dark shadows. I then added Smokey Slate around each of the flowers to give them an extra pop and lightly dotted around the image with Pool Party and blended the colours outward. Once done, I went back and lightly dotted around the images with Pool Party to add some fun texture. I lightly shaded around the edges with Pool Party and added clear Wink of Stella on the tips of each flower. BTW, adding water to my dried out Wink of Stella really did revive it! And finally I added a trail of dainty pearls across the panel.I cut a Blushing Bride panel down to 3-3/4 x 5-1/2″ and ran it through the Big Shot with the Basket Weave embossing folder. As for the Wisteria Wonder panel, it measures 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″ and I stamped with Wisteria Wonder Ink the left and right edge with the tiny flowers from the Love What You Do stamp set to add more interest. The ribbon I used is Berry Burst with a sparkly silver metallic edge finish. If you don’t already have this ribbon in your stash, you need it! Its such a pretty colour, if you like pink, and you can’t go wrong with the sparkly silver accent. I wrapped the ribbon on the panel and taped it on the back and cut a smaller piece and tied a knot bow and secured the bow knot and ribbon with a few glue dots! I decided on a ‘Mom’ sentiment for this card and created it using the Brushwork Alphabet stamp set which has a really lovely script. I then carefully fussy cut it out and popped it up with dimensionals.
Card Recipe: – Whisper White card base 4-1/4 x 11″ -Score at 5-1/2″ – Blushing Bride panel 3-3/4 x 5-1/2″ – Wisteria Wonder panel 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″ – Wisteria Wonder small panel 3-1/4 x 3-1/2″ – Watercolour panel 3 x 3-1/4″
